At SCARPA® the authentic passion for climbing is felt every single day and it extends to brands in the sector as well as to athletes and climbing aficionados outside the workplace.
The magnificent Swiss athlete and member of the SCARPA® family Nina Caprez brought the values and wonderful project of ClimbAID to our attention last year. This Swiss NPO has been carrying out humanitarian activities through climbing and other alpine sports since 2016 and we would like to introduce the organization to all the SCARPA® fans and to those who love climbing and the Great Outdoors.
The objective of ClimbAID’s projects is to offer war refugees the joy of climbing. This is made possible thanks to ROLLING ROCK, the bright and colourful touring truck. Rolling Rock is based in the Beqaa Governorate in Lebanon and it makes it possible for refugees from Syria and other countries to enjoy the experience of one of the world’s most challenging and thrilling sports.
The association’s activities are ongoing in Zurich, Lucerne and Winterthur (Switzerland) and its MAXI FAMILY project includes indoor climbing sessions to asylum seekers from all over the world.
Like ClimbAID, we are also convinced that sport is the receptacle of positive emotions and encourages not only personal development but international exchanges as well since it connects people through the universal language of sport activities.
Nina’s enthusiasm is contagious and our athletes have decided to become Ambassadors of the association which now has the support of three prestigious names: in the forefront we have Switzerland’s own Nina Caprez, ROLLING ROCK’S godmother, who has been to Lebanon several times to contribute personally to the truck’s activities. French athletes Arnaud Petit and Stephanie Bodet have also decided to join her and support ClimbAID’s mission wholeheartedly.
If you would like to join Nina, Arnaud, Stephanie and SCARPA® and support ClimbAID, we encourage you to learn more about their activities with young climbers because even if times are hard, we can always find a way to keep our dreams alive and stay focused on reaching the top!
