The entire SCARPA® family is celebrating along with our great climber from the Aosta Valley, François Cazzanelli, who yesterday morning (Nepalese time), successfully accompanied the astronaut Maurizio Cheli up to the peak of Everest.
«We were already familiar with the professional conduct and skills of Francois, but this impressive new achievement is a further source of great pride and satisfaction for all of us here at SCARPA. The conquest of Everest – like every other peak for an athlete, or even just a mountain lover – further sharpens our awareness of the importance of our role in providing the best possible footwear for every aficionado”, explainedMarco Campagna, Marketing Manager.
The whole company is proud of this achievement, which highlights the superb professional skills of the athletes who support (and wear) SCARPA® footwear.
About a year and a half ago, François, who was born in 1990, had a serious accident on the peak of the Kimshung (6781 metres), in Nepal, from where he was brought to safety by helicopter, but by October last year he had already successfully resumed his mountaineering career, taking part in an expedition on Mount Edgar (6618 m). So it is with great satisfaction that we are able to share this huge success, in which he was accompanied by the SCARPA model Phantom 8000.
Well done, François!
