Running as a symbol of
female solidarity and sharing, friendship and the desire to get involved. These are the values underlying "Corri con noi", the large-scale running programme organised by Donna Moderna magazine, in which SCARPA is the main partner, supplying the most appropriate footwear for the terrain to be covered.
The previous edition of the event was a huge success, with five national races and the heroic "Iriki Adventure" final in the Moroccan desert. Today "Corri con noi" has become a
women-only movement with over a thousand participants who train together, share their thoughts and feelings and find precious time for their physical and mental selves in a genuine "training ground for sisterhood and female emancipation".
To take part in this year's edition, women need to register online on the Donna Moderna website; they can then choose from a total of twelve Italian cities in which to train on urban trail circuits: Catania, Florence, Lecce, Milan, Naples, Padua, Palermo, Parma, Pescara, Rome, Turin and Verona. The event is not only for expert runners, but is open to all, including those who simply want to walk in good company. In fact, the participants are divided into three groups according to their level of preparation: "Walk", "Walk and run" and "Run". All are supervised by expert coaches.
Due to the health emergency in the first half of this year, the enthusiastic team of runners and walkers was forced to pause temporarily, although no-one was left alone, thanks to online training and abundant content shared via the Donna Moderna social media pages.
And now, at last, open-air activity is restarting twice a week from Milan to Catania, with simple anti-Covid measures in place, such as the wearing of face masks before and after training and keeping to the safe distance of two metres. Just as in the previous edition, once again this year the female SCARPA champions will take part in four "Corri con noi" training sessions, proud to share in this extraordinary all-women project.
Because it's wonderful to run, but even more wonderful with women.
